MCC gives time off to all employees on the following holidays:

  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (third Monday in January)
  • Lincoln's Birthday (February 12)
  • Presidents' Day (third Monday in February)

  • Veterans' Day (November 11)
  • Thanksgiving Day (fourth Thursday in November)
  • Day after Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Eve (December 24)
  • Christmas Day (December 25)
  • Eligible employees will be paid for holiday time off. If you are eligible, your holiday pay will be calculated at your base rate of pay as of the time of that holiday.

Employees in the following employment classifications are eligible for holiday time off with pay once they have completed 90 calendar days of service in one of these classifications:

  • Regular full-time employees
  • If you are eligible for paid holidays, you must also work both the last scheduled work day immediately before the holiday and the first scheduled day immediately after the holiday.

If a recognized holiday falls on a Saturday, MCC will observe it on the Friday before the holiday. If a recognized holiday falls on a Sunday, MCC will observe it on the Monday after the holiday.

If you are eligible for paid holidays and on the holiday you are on a paid absence, such as vacation or sick leave, you will get holiday pay instead of the paid time off pay you would have received.
