Foreclosure Counselor

Margert Community Corporation (MARG), a community based, non-profit, HUD certified housing counseling agency, is seeking to fill a TEMPORARY, full-time, 18-month position in Far Rockaway. 

Responsibilities include responding to all foreclosure calls that come into the agency and entering them into our online computer system, counseling households that are in foreclosure or at risk of foreclosure by assessing their financial issues and applying potential loss mitigation options, representing homeowners at settlement conferences and making referrals to approved legal service partners. 

Note: Weekend & evening hours are required and compensated.

College Degree and prior housing industry or mortgage banking experience preferred.  Salary Commensurate with experience ($43,000 +).

Data Manager / IT Specialist

Margert Community Corporation (MARG), a community based, non-profit housing agency, is seeking to fill a "Specialty Occupation"[1] job position to fulfill the following requirements:

Strong computer, software and technology skills with a solid background in accounting, analytical and organizational experience, and facility with automated processing to improve existing financial reporting systems and internal controls.  Experience in budgeting, forecasting and quality assurance required.

Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:

o Plan, develop, analyze and test computer programs and systems to identify errors and ensure conformance to industry and corporate standards
o Formulate, review and implement policies and procedures required to develop programs and modify systems to meet staff and user requirements
o Train staff on policies and procedures indicated above
o Devise flow charts and diagrams and write revised programs and system design protocols
o Establish and implement test procedures and Quality Assurance Reviews to conform to industry standards
o Prepare and analyze highly specialized fiscal reports and design Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) reports for agency integrated computer-based systems and intranet to manage internal and external resources, including fixed assets, revenues and expenses, assets and liabilities, program inventories, housing rehabilitation materials and labor, and agency human resources
o
Staff supervision and training for agency Fund-EZ nonprofit accounting software program and the NYS DHCR E-RSB proprietary database
o
Adapt systems to monitor and report on project specifications and program outcomes by converting data from online client case file database (Fannie Mae HCO)

o Prepare and analyze company financials using spreadsheets, flow charts and diagrams into sequence of detailed instructions and logical steps for strategic and action planning
o Computer coding to design, write, test, debug/troubleshoot and maintain the source code to create programs to analyze and interpret census data and other community needs assessments resources
o Coding needs assessment analytical tools into language process-able by existing agency computer systems, and applying specialized knowledge of programming techniques and computer languages
o Oversee the upgrade to agency’s internet access (T1 connection with static IP)
o Upgrade agency’s technological capacity through staff training, server and intranet maintenance and workstation redesign and improvements
o Upgrade and maintain agency’s web presence to increase and improve functionality and client interactivity
o Replace, delete and/or modify code to update existing website, as well as posting most current content
o Analyze, review, and alter programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements
o Create agency IT manual to specify and describe program development, logic, coding and corrections
o Recreate steps taken by user to locate source of problem and rewrite program to correct errors

College Degree and proven experience in the following environments: Oracle Applications, Fund EZ nonprofit fund accounting software, NYS DHCR E-RSB Weatherization database, Microsoft Expression and Visual Studio, File Transfer Protocols (FTP), Front Page and SharePoint Services, and advanced MS Excel skills required.  Starting salary commensurate with experience ($ 31,000 +).
