On March 11th, six months after the attacks on the World
Trade Center,
two great beams of light rose from lower Manhattan and filled the night sky.
The Tribute in Light, a temporary memorial organized by the
Municipal Art Society, was meant to honor those who were lost on
September 11th and those who worked tirelessly in the aftermath to get our city
through its greatest trial. Photograph: Charles Nesbit.
