We are a founding member of the Association for Energy Affordability (AEA), a nonprofit training, research and technical services organization that is committed to the principle of using energy efficiency to maintain affordable and healthy housing for low and moderate income families and communities.

LIFE, the Low-Income Forum on Energy, is a unique statewide dialogue. The goal is to connect people and programs to solve the energy-related issues challenging low-income New Yorkers.

This dialogue serves to strengthen the programs and resources available for low income energy customers funded through utilities, local, state and federal government.

HEAP is a federally funded program that assists eligible households with grants to pay their energy heating costs.

Project Warmth helps needy families on Long Island and the Rockaway peninsula get back on track with their utility payments.

Margert is a housing counseling network partner of the Center for New York City Neighborhoods (CNYCN) providing direct mortgage foreclosure prevention services to borrowers.

The Center for New York City Neighborhoods, Inc. (CNYCN) was created to coordinate and expand services to New York City residents at risk of losing their homes to foreclosure.

First time homebuyer down payment assistance may be available from the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR) through Margert's First HOME program.

Margert is a HPD approved housing counseling agency.

Many New Yorkers want to buy a home but don't have enough money saved for their down payment and closing costs. As part of Mayor Bloomberg's "New Housing Marketplace Plan," the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) created the HomeFirst Down Payment Assistance program.
